Dumbbell Incline Rear Lateral Raise

4 steps Updated 29/08/2026

Dumbbell Incline Rear Lateral Raise is a free weights exercise targeting Shoulders (Posterior Deltoid) using Dumbbells.

Step by step

How to perform it

  1. Set an incline bench to a 45-degree angle and lie chest-first against it, allowing your arms to hang down with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other.
  2. Raise both arms out to the sides until they are at shoulder height, squeezing your shoulder blades together.
  3. Hold briefly at the top of the movement, ensuring your arms are parallel to the floor and in line with your shoulders.
  4. Lower the dumbbells back to the starting position with control, maintaining the slight bend in your elbows. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
