Dumbbell Standing Single Arm Cross Raise

4 steps Updated 29/08/2026

Dumbbell Standing Single Arm Cross Raise is a free weights exercise targeting Shoulders (Anterior Deltoids) using Dumbbells.

Step by step

How to perform it

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in your right hand with a neutral grip. Extend your right arm straight down at your side. Your left hand should be on your hip for support.
  2. Raise the dumbbell diagonally across your body towards your left shoulder, keeping your arm straight and maintaining a slight bend in your elbow.
  3. Hold the position briefly at the top, ensuring the dumbbell reaches shoulder height.
  4. Lower the dumbbell back to the starting position, keeping your movements slow and steady. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch to the left arm.
