Barbell Silverback Shrug is a exercise targeting Upper Back (Trapezius, Rhomboids).
Step by step
How to perform it
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell with both hands using an overhand grip (palms down). Your hands should be shoulder-width apart. Bend your knees slightly and hinge forward at the hips, keeping your back straight and your torso at 45 degrees to the ground.
- Start with your arms fully extended, letting the barbell hang directly below your shoulders.
- Shrug your shoulders upward to your ears. Focus on squeezing your shoulder blades together at the top of the movement.
- Slowly lower your shoulders back to the starting position. Repeat the movement for the desired repetitions.
